“Equally if not more troubling is the fact that, when one visits architecture schools today, it is rare indeed to find an architecture studio that is organized so as to have the students begin with the design of the room , and where the students’ designs throughout the term are evaluated first as an interior experience, and only afterward as an exterior form. In our exterior form-obsessed time, it has become a seemingly impossible task for architecture professors to keep the students’ mind on the interior experience - even though in the end that is all that matters to the inhabitants of architecture.”
